Stroke: Water

Students of my generation were taught to define water as "an odorless liquid, odorless and tasteless." Learned by rote formula: H2O, but at the time, did not talk too much about the relationship between molecules and atoms in their composition, although the breakdown of the obvious formula: 2 volumes of hydrogen and 1 oxygen. What happens is that we were quite "stuck" in physics and chemistry. However, what we get clear of our classes, years ago, is that water covers 71% of the earth's outer layer, also known as the crust.

The fact that the chosen theme is water that today we celebrate the International Day (World) 2011 Water, whose slogan is "Water for cities: responding to the urban challenge", which aims to draw attention of all citizens of the world about the impact of rapid urban population growth, industrialization and the uncertainty caused by climate change, conflict and natural disasters have on the urban systems of water supply. Do not forget that while we squander this good, more than 850 million people lack access to clean water. So it is especially important to remember the most important steps to consume less water:

Wash clothes only when loading the washer is full / 5 to 7 kg by brand and model) and use short cycles if the clothes are not very dirty.

Use the dishwasher only when full.

If you wash dishes by hand, no flushing. First wash the dishes with detergent and then rinsed.

Clean the teeth using a glass of water and not leaving the tap running.

When we showered, we should lathered with enclosed shower, and finally, use the shower just to rinse. Ideally, also flow switches that regulate the flow of water.

Place in the toilet cistern fills a plastic bottle to save water when using the button. There are also simple mechanisms that allow full or partial discharge using the flush button.

Check faucets or toilet tanks for leaks.

To reduce water consumption, use economizers (broadcasters) to be sold in hardware stores
and allow a good savings by incorporating the output air stream.

If you live in a house or bungalow with garden, you should use the
storing rainwater in tanks for later use in irrigation, turf and plants and also install a drip irrigation system

If you have no indoor pool that is only used in season, should be covered with tarpaulins to prevent it being soiled dead leaves and the scum that forms on the inside. In addition, decreases and the deterioration of the pool during periods of low temperatures and allows for better water recycling next season.

Remember: Water is essential for life and is a good. If we waste water now, our descendants will lack water tomorrow to survive!
